Catherine Frances Brannon Zachary, age 105, Madison, formerly of Marietta, died Tuesday, January 23, 2018. Graveside services will be held at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery, Whitlock Avenue, Marietta, GA, at 1:30 p.m. with Stephen Wallace officiating.
Mrs. Zachary was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Alexander Lee Zachary; parents, Thomas Ode Brannon and Nora Mae Mayes Brannon; brothers, Henry Hoyt Brannon, Thomas Kenneth Brannon, and Earl Mays Brannon; sisters, Floy Marjorie Wages and Annie Mae Zachary; sisters-in-law, Louise Dougherty Brannon, Rebecca Henry Brannon, and Betty Mosley Brannon; brothers-in-law, Douglas Clifton Wages and James Lawrence Zachary; and sons-in-law, Keith Harlan Sewell and Henry Lewis Faucett.
Mrs. Zachary is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Janet Lee Zachary Faucett of Florence Ala., and June Frances Zachary (Sewell) Wallace, and Stephen Gary Wallace of Madison; grandchildren, Brian Keith Sewell and his wife Jennifer Brown Sewell of Madison, Rabun Zachary Wallace of Brunswick, and Mary Wallace Noe and husband, Kevin Lee Noe of Madison; great grandchildren, Alexander Keith Sewell and Robert Anderson Anderson Sewell of Madison.
Mrs. Zachary was born on July 14, 1912, in Buford. She graduated from Duluth (GA) High School on May 16, 1932. She married Alexander Lee Zachary on November 2, 1934 in Norcross. Having started their family in Gwinnett County they moved briefly to LaGrange and then to Marietta in the early 1940s. Mrs. Zachary was a homemaker and was active in the Girl Scouts, and school and church activities. She was retired from Rich’s Department Store at Cumberland Mall Marietta. She and her husband were members of the First United Methodist Church of Marietta. They moved to Madison in 1990.
