Jimmy Conner, 68 of Madison, died February 18, 2018. Mr. Conner was born Dec 12, 1949 in Madison to Charlie Warren Conner and Mabel Moss Conner. He was married to Debbie Hawk. They made their home in Madison. Mr. Conner was a member of the Dewald Masonic Lodge in Rutledge. He worked for General Motors Lakewood Plant for 15 years. He then opened Conner Mobile Home Sales. Later he started Jimmy Conner Grading and was also a partner in Madison Mini Warehouse Storage. Jimmy was a “self-made man”. He loved his God, his wife, family, farm and his many friends. He loved life and never met a stranger.
Mr. Conner is survived by his wife of 49 years Debbie Conner; his daughters Jennifer Conner Pennington and Robert and Crystal Louise Conner. He is also survived by two grandchildren Robert “Rob” Braswell Pennington, Jr. of Madison and Mary Lucile Pennington of Auburn, Alabama. Mr. Conner is also survived by his siblings Charles Richard Conner and Judy of Rutledge, Bobby Lemuel Conner of Cave Springs, C.W. Conner, Jr. and Nona of Cave Springs, Anne Browning of Madison and Peggy Harris and Michael of Oregon. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The family received family and friends at A.E. Carter Funeral Home from 10 – 11 a.m. February 20, with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of A.E. Carter Funeral Home. Interment was held immediately following the service at the Rutledge City Cemetery in Rutledge.
