Barbara S. Derricho, 64, died June 11, 2009. She was born December 9, 1944 to the late George and Olivia Smith.  She was preceded in death by her husband Oscar E. Derrocho Sr. who died in 1962. Also preceding her in death were three sisters, Willie Eva Cody, Louise Williams and Bertha Mae Hawkins and three brothers, Josh Smith, George Smith Jr., and Samuel Smith.

She is survived by her two children, Angela O. Derricho of Shady Dale and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar (Yalanda) Derricho Jr. of Jonesboro; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Bessie Clark of Bostwick, Annie Harris of Atlanta, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Gladys) Jones of Monroe; three brothers, John Smith and Freddie Smith of Atlanta, and Mr. and Mrs. James (Shirley) Edwards of Madison; mother-in-law, Julia Mae Derricho of Shady Dale, three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, a special niece and nephew, Brenda and Terry Hawkins, a close cousin, Clarence White, a close friend, Charles Swain and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, at Springfield Baptist Church with the Rev. A. Baker and Pastor Nicholas Curry officiating.  Interment was in Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery.

Flower girls were her nieces and pallbearers were her nephews.
