Herbert Fox, age 84 of Nicholson, died June 18, 2009.  He was born in Pickens County on September 30, 1924 to the late Colie Fox and the late Susie Wilkins Fox. He is survived by his wife: Dorothy Fox of Monroe; children: Bobby and Evelyn Fox of Madison, David and Charlotte Fox of Monroe, Barbara and Terry Blalock of Nicholson, Sandra Jenkins of Madison, Danny Fox of Monroe, Geraldine and Michael Hodges of Nicholson, Linda and Bo McDaniel of Walnut Grove, Glenda and Randy Moore of Gray; sisters and brothers-in-law: Frances and Hugh Gravley, Shirley and Alton Beck all of Jasper, Rose Horton of Douglas, AL; brothers and sisters-in-law: Denton and Evelyn Fox, Jim and Pat Fox all of Jasper; 17 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday, June 21 at 2:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Malcom officiating. Pallbearers were grandchildren: Tim Hodges, Brian Blalock, Ricky Blalock, Steven Fox, Chad Moore, Lee Jenkins, Chris Jenkins, Johnny Jenkins, and Jessie Jenkins. Interment followed at Hill Haven Cemetery. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
