Mary Light Byerly, 88, of Monroe died June 19, 2009. She was born in Louisville, Tennessee on March 17, 1921. She married Charles Foy Byerly, also a native of Louisville. Later they moved their family to Michigan and then Mrs. Byerly moved to the Atlanta area. She attended Harvest International Church in Jonesboro as long as she was able. She enjoyed the Senior Adult group at the church as well as reading, gardening and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Fred Byerly and Carol of Rutledge and Charles Byerly and Cami of Eliat, Israel; grandchildren, David Byerly (Kathy), Stephen Byerly, Cynthia B. Thompson (Mitchell), Kevin Slavens, Michele Byerly, Brad Byerly and Matthew Byerly; several great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, in the chapel at A. E. Carter Funeral Home.
