Calvin Arnold Adams
Calvin Arnold “Jack” Adams, 85, of Winder died July 8, 2009. Mr. Adams was a native of Morgan County. He was born and grew up in Buckhead. He was born May 12,1924 to George and Mina Beasley Adams. Mr. Adams served in the Army during World War II. He married Ruth Powers on February 18, 1949 and spent his career as a truck driver for General Motors. He spent much of his adult life in Atlanta. He enjoyed fishing and restoring cars.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth Adams, and their children, Jacqueline Adams Pascher of Anguilla, British West Indes; Roger Stephen Adams of Galveston, Texas; Terri Adams Smith (Stephen) of Locust Grove; and Betty Emily Bearden (Gary) of Summerville, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Keith Smith, Jeremy Smith and Joey Smith, and five great-grandchildren, Luke, Olivia, Miranda, Andrew and Shawn Smith.
A graveside service was held at Buckhead City Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 11 with the Rev. Jeff Rogers officiating.
A. E. Carter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
