Come on y’all! I feel great! Flat happy! And, it’s such a pretty day! I say we skip, skip, skip like a kid on Sunday all the way into town! Let’s go! Whoa! Violent slowmo face-plant fall on sidewalk. Ding dang! Where am I and who knows me? What in the Sam Hill was I thinkin’ skippin’ like a fool with my fab three-inch platform sandals? Well don’t just stand there lookin’ at me like your elevator don’t go to the top floor! Help me up ‘cause I got places to go and people to see! Thanks . . . Whew! That fall nearly did me in! What the? Hell fire and damnation! My shoe’s slap blown apart! And, I just spent my hard-earned money on these fabulous sandals! Why I’m madder than a wet hen! Say what? In Madison? Well I reckon I’ll get glad in the same britches I got mad in ‘cause there’s a shoe repair service right smack here in Morgan County!

That’s right y’all! I’m talkin’ ‘bout none other than Step Above Shoe Service owned by our very own Albert Goudelock! Y’all know Albert! He used to have the little shoe repair shop on West Washington Street years and years ago! Well honey he’s back! Oh and Step Above Shoe Service is located at 276 West Washington St., on the Madison Market campus. Ok so if you turn to go into that fab restaurant Tequila Express, Albert’s shop is located right below that near the pond behind Town 220. It’s in that cute little red house! And, honey Albert can fix you right up! He’s been doing shoe repair work forever and offers competitive rates and full service! I mean he also can fix up your broken pocketbook, belt and other accessories! Right now, Albert is working part time hours so drop off and pick up after 4 p.m., he says to call before to make sure he’s there. His number’s 706-474-4263! The good news is that he plans to open full time in the comin’ months! Oh and you also can drop off your shoes at Pro Care Cleaners located at 1412 Eatonton Road in Madison! Check it out y’all!

Antique expert extraordinaire Keith Rex owner of J&K Fleas An’Tiques located at 184 South Main St. and J&K Antiques & Interiors 125 West Jefferson St., both in Madison, is flat at it again! That’s right y’all! He’s fixing’ to open Jefferson Street Consignments located at 121 West Jefferson Street right next to J&K Antiques & Interiors and right down from Perk Avenue. Ok so I popped in to see Keith to get the scoop and here it is! Jefferson Street Consignments is gonna sell fabulous, good quality clothes, furniture and accessories! Ok so all y’all owners of beautiful designer outfits or size-six designer shoes, send ‘em over to Keith immediately so that I can purchase them! The motto of this new enterprise is super fab: “Gently used, Never Abused.” Oh. My. Gosh! I’ll soon be trottin’ all over town in fabulously fashionable designer clothes and shoes and people who don’t know me will think I’m Rich! Rich! Rich! I get giddy just thinkin’ ‘bout it! Oh and as y’all know this is the third (Yes I said THIRD!) shop that Keith has opened in downtown Madison! So it just begs the question . . . Why is Keith such a successful retailer? Well I flat asked him that question and he said: Customer service, customer service, customer service! I mean he and his staff just go the extra mile to make their customers smile! Anyway, this great new shop will open in September so if y’all’ve got items you think Keith might like, just call him at 706-342-3009 or pop over to J&K Fleas An’Tiques on Main Street and let him look it over!

It must be suppertime ‘cause the hogs are just a squealin’! Oh . . . My bad  . . . that’s just my stomach growlin’! Let’s go over to Ingle’s Market located at 1441 Eatonton road in Madison and get us somethin’ to cook up for supper! What the? Where’d the? I’m flat dazed and confused! Larry! Help! Ok y’all we are not goin’ crazy! Ingle’s Manager Larry Miller says they’re rearranging a few things ‘cause they’re addin’ some new lines! Right so aisle 3 now sports a cool new section that offers special brands for specialty brands when you get the urge to cook fancy Mexican, Chinese, Thai or Kosher dishes! Cool beans! Oh and they’ve expanded their water brands and their wine brands! Now you’re talkin’! Y’all check it out! Thanks Larry!

Ok that’s it for the buzz on biz this week! Y’all be real sweet to your momma and your daddy and don’t ever miss an opportunity to tell ‘em you love ‘em! Hey and y’all shop local every ding dang chance you get! I’ll see all y’all next week. Same time. Same Number One Weekly Newspaper in the Great State of Georgia!
