Madison Police Department

    • On August 30 a cruelty toward a child and terroristic threats complaint was made at a Sulgrave Drive location after a woman reported that a man confronted her and her children with a butcher knife. According to reports, the woman said the man allegedly threatened to kill the complainant because the complainant allegedly called the man’s 77-year-old mother “an old (expletive)”. The complainant denied that she called the woman a name. The man denied that he threatened anyone with a butcher knife. The man said that when he exited a church van that day the complainant had been drinking and was being “rude.” The man did state that he went into the complainant’s apartment and requested that the complainant refrain from calling his mother derogatory names.
    • On August 30 a simple assault complaint was filed at a MLK Drive location after a woman reported that while she was laying on the couch at her boyfriend’s house, an ex-girlfriend of the man entered the house and attacked her. The ex-girlfriend told police that she did enter the house but could not remember who hit whom first. The ex-girlfriend said the present girlfriend was upset because the ex-girlfriend was still having relations with the man. Both women suffered injuries in the fight. The man said he placed the ex-girlfriend in a headlock and forcefully removed her from the residence.
    • On August 29 a battery complaint was filed at a Micha Way location after a woman reported that when she was opening the door to allow a male visitor into her apartment, the father of her child knocked open the door and attacked the male visitor. The woman said as she attempted to stop the fight the father of her child struck her several times.
    • On August 28 a damage to property complain was filed at the archery area behind Morgan County High School after a man reported that someone forcibly entered a storage shed. The man said nothing appeared to be missing but that a leg was broken on a target stand and beer cans were thrown on the ground.
    • On August 28 a burglary complaint was filed at Morgan County Head Start on Garnett Street after a woman reported that sometime during the summer someone removed a Hewlett Packard computer, a Canon printer and 36 folding chairs. The woman said the items had been stored in a room during recent renovation work.
    • On August 26 a larceny complaint was filed at an Eatonton Highway location after a woman reported that two white males around 20-years-old entered the store and took a pair of Nike Air Force tennis shoes. The complainant said one of the males told a clerk at the store that he had a pair of boots on lay-away. When the clerk and the male went to the storage area, the other man remained at the front of the store. The woman found a black pair of Nike tennis shoes that she believes belongs to the male. The missing shoes were black and red and a size 12.
    • On August 28 a larceny complaint was filed at a West Jefferson Street location after a man reported that someone had removed three heavy-duty batteries from a parked truck. Estimated value of the batteries is $286.
    • On August 27 a burglary complaint was filed at an Eatonton Road location after officers responded to a burglar alarm. At the scene, reports state, an officer located pry marks around the front door. The officer also located fresh foot prints in grass and followed the prints to Carmichael Drive. Nothing was reported taken and entry was not gained.
    • On August 26 a counterfeiting complaint was filed at an Eatonton Road location after a woman reported that a man gave her $20 for gas and then left the area. The woman said when she looked at the bill she realized it was counterfeit. The woman was able to secure a tag number for the man’s vehicle.
    • On August 26 Ernest Larry Fulton Jr., 38, Madison, was arrested and charged with terroristic threats and stalking after he allegedly threatened to kill a woman and another man while the woman was at work. Officers responded to a call that Fulton had threatened the woman. After the initial call they were alerted again that Fulton was sitting in the parking lot of the woman’s workplace. Fulton was arrested at the scene.
    • On August 26 a burglary complaint was filed at a Town Walk Circle location after a man reported that someone had forced entry into a vacant house and removed a microwave / range hood and a stove.
    • On August 23 a criminal trespass complaint was filed at a Green Meadow Drive location after a man reported that another man had kicked the quarter panel of his vehicle. The man said the other man was upset because he had received DNA results that indicated he was not the father of a woman’s child.
    •  On August 25 a simple assault and criminal trespass complaint was filed at an Overlook Drive location after a woman reported that a 13-year-old male had come on her property and assaulted her son. The son said he had problems with the 13-year-old because the 13-year-old believed the son had stolen his shoes.

Morgan County Sheriff’s Office

    • On August 31 Grady Spencer Denton, 22, Eatonton, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass after officers responded to a noise complaint at a pool on Westminster Way. When a deputy arrived at approximately 3:45 a.m. he observed a Jeep attempting to leave the pool, reports state. Denton was driving the Jeep. Two passengers in the vehicle, Chelsea Danielle Davis, 17, Madison and Brandon Allen Farley, 18, Eatonton, were arrested and charged with criminal trespass and consumption of alcohol under age. Beer cans were located in the vehicle, reports state.
    • On August 29 a damage to vehicle complaint was filed at a Weaver Jones Road location after a woman reported that someone had shattered the rear window of her 1993 Cutlass. The woman spoke with a neighbor who said her 10-year-old son had shot the window with a bb gun because he believed the complainant had taken the family’s dog. The woman said she would pay for the window to be replaced.
    • On August 30 an animal incident report was filed at a Lower Apalachee Road location after a woman reported that four dogs were in a pin attacking her goat. According to reports, a deputy responded and observed a Pit Bull type dog and two puppies in the pen. The deputy applied pepper spray to the Pit Bull so the complainant could secure the goat. While the deputy was attempting to secure a flashlight his shotgun discharged into the air, reports state. The dogs were captured and had no collars.
    • On August 30 Michael James Arwood, 51, Madison was arrested and charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly struck a man in the head with a stick. According to reports, the victim said he had argued with Arwood over missing money. A deputy located Arwood in the bedroom of a Pierce Dairy Road house. He was arrested and transported to the Morgan County Detention Center.
    • On August 30 Christopher Scott Bishop, 21, Greensboro was arrested and charged with DUI, hit and run and failure to report striking a fixed object after officers were dispatched to an accident report on Apalachee Road. Reports state that when officers arrived Bishop and a juvenile passenger allegedly fled from officers but were taken into custody an hour later. Bishop told officers a yellow truck had forced him off the road. The juvenile allegedly said Bishop struck a mailbox and ran off the road.
    • On August 29 Willie James Pilcher, 36, Madison, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, less than an ounce after a deputy attempting to serve an arrest warrant on Hayes Street confronted Pilcher and two other subjects in the driveway of the Hayes Street house. A deputy arrested Pilcher on an outstanding warrant and discovered a small bag of suspected marijuana on his person.
    • On August 29 a theft by taking complaint was filed at a High Shoals Road location after a woman reported that someone had removed a heat pump from a vacant apartment.
    • On August 28 a harassing phone call complaint was filed at a Mallard Ridge Road location after a woman reported that someone had called her daughter more than 40 times and made sexual comments. The complaint said the person had also sent a picture of himself. The woman had saved the calls and the picture.
    • On August 26 a theft by taking complaint was filed at a Keencheefonee Road, Rutledge location after a man reported that someone had taken a trash can with approximately 200 pounds of number one copper.
    • On August 27 a burglary complaint was filed at a Lower Apalachee Road location after a man reported that someone had taken a stick of deodorant from her bathroom. The complainant said she last saw the deodorant on August 25. She also said she believed her husband was playing “mind games” on her by moving items around the house to make her think she was losing her mind.
    • On August 26 a criminal trespass complaint was filed at a Monticello Highway location after a man reported that his live-in girlfriend had damaged his house. The man stated that the girl had thrown office supplies on the floor, pulled clothes from the closet and put a hole in the bedroom wall with a door knob. Reports state that alcohol was involved in the incident.
    • On August 25 a criminal trespass complaint was filed at a Cox Road location after a man reported that a logging crew was cutting timber on .99 acres he had purchased. When deputies arrived at the site, the logging company owner said his crew was on the property he had been shown by his client. The client arrived and told the crew his property was actually on the other side of the road.
    • On August 25 a criminal trespass complaint was filed at a Turner Road location after a man reported that a woman came to his house and requested that he help her fix her car. The man said he told the woman that he did not have time to help. The man said he went back into this house and when he walked outside he noticed that someone had cut one of his tires.
    • On August 24 a theft by taking complaint was filed at a Davis Academy Road, Rutledge, location after a man reported that someone had taken a 2006 Superior Trailer.
    • On August 23 an animal report was filed at a Cochran Road location after a woman reported that she was walking on the road with two juveniles when a neighbor ran over her dog and then made an inappropriate gesture with his finger.
