Cue Mission Impossible Theme Song. Play the tape! Petey, Scrappy and Biz Buzz. Your mission should you choose to accept it involves scaring the daylights out of the University of Georgia’s mascot Uga rendering him incapacitated and unable to travel to Auburn for the big game.  

 We accept! Petey! Hold still you fool poodle! This orange pet-hair paint is loud! And the black stripes look . . . .Grrrrrreat! A few hair extensions here, a few faux whiskers there and Perf! You flat look like a scary miniature Auburn Tiger sans roar! And, check out Scrappy, the Chihuahua mixed-with-lord-knows what! His outfit looks more like a ding dang owl than a War Eagle but it’ll have to do! Ok! Our intelligence report said Uga should be walkin’ by any . . . There HE IS! Go get ‘em boys! Petey! Scrappy! Watch OUT! HELP!  

 Uga’s got ‘em both by the neck! What the? They’re safe! Was that Super Man? No! It was all a big, blue whirl! But, I did notice he was wearin’ the number 2! Well, whoever it was just saved the day!  

Ok! Time’s a wastin’! Let’s get to it and then some! Feelin’ lucky? Y’all get those calendars out right smack this minute ‘cause you are oh so booked on Saturday, Nov. 20 from 8 p.m. til 11 p.m.! I’m talkin’ A Night in Vegas baby! But, don’t any of y’all worry none ‘cause what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas unless you do something really, really scandalous! Then you can just forget it honey ‘cause it’ll be all over town! Ok so y’all this event is a super fantastic fund raiser for the Madison Morgan Cultural Center! There’s gonna be Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Poker! Plus Fab door prizes, a silent auction, hor d’oeuvres and a cash bar! It all happens at The Hall at the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center and dress like you mean it honey! Tickets are $50 per person or $90 per couple! Just call 706-342-4743 to order tickets! I’ll see you there!  

Let’s pop on over to Buckhead! Hey! Check out The General Store by that green fence located at 4420 Buckhead Road (right across from the Buckhead cemetery)! Ding dang! This place put the O in Original! And, it’s run by Madisonians Jessica Royal and Tim Lewis! Love it! Ok so they’re servin’ up lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday and the menu ROCKS!  

 Let’s just say they’ve got one of the best cheese burgers in Morgan County and it’s only $3.35! Can’t beat it! Plus they’ve got handmade milkshakes, fries and onion rings! But that’s not all honey! Tim and Jessica are cookin’ up some great BBQ prepared fresh on site in the General Store’s very own smoker and I can tell you from first-hand experience . . . It’s DELISH! Grab a pork sandwich or plate or just order it by the pound! Tim’s also fixin’ up some mean Smoked Wings tossed in his super secret BBQ Buffalo wing sauce! Yum! Oh! And, they’ve got ribs when available! But, the best part is that they’re also sellin’ local fresh milk from our very own Johnston Dairy Farm, an assortment of gourmet crackers, chips, pastas, sauces, olive oils and more!    

Jessica says they’ll soon be sellin’ local eggs and cheeses, locally grown produce and even some locally grown beef, pork and chicken. Oh and craft beers and affordable, carefully selected wines will be here soon! Can’t wait! Y’all head over there immediately and check out this fantastic new business that’s a little bit country, a little bit chic! I flat love it! 

Hey and Babs Johnson flat woke me up from my nap to have me tell all y’all to head on over to Maggies on Main located 133 South Main St., Friday, Nov. 12 to hear her brother Mike Kavo perform! Y’all! He’s great! So be there around 7 p.m.!    

Shape up! Anne B. Williams want to whip you into shape at the Madison Fitness Center! Honey, she’s started a new class called “Pump It Up” and it’s a high energy workout with weights to build muscle and burn fat! Dang! The class is slated for Mondays and Thursdays at 6 p.m.!  

This just in. Esther Curry wanted me to tell all y’all to head over to Godfrey Saturday Nov. 13 from 9 a.m. til 2 for a big yard sale to benefit the Godfrey Community  Park. Just take Highway 83 to Godfrey Road! They’re also gonna be sellin’ pork barbecue from 11 til 2 for only $8 a ticket!

Deals! Get some great deals at the close out sale at Catherine Andrews Antiques & Furnishings at 150 West Jefferson St., in Madison. Catherine says she’ll be closin’ the doors next month and is offerin’ some really fantastic deals on most items in the store like a set of eight 1930s dinin’ room chairs, French antiques and more. She has a huge selection of estate jewelry, crystal and even some fabulous cow hide rugs! Check it out!   

Finally, it looks like Twice as Nice Boutique, the high end consignment shop that just opened last month in Madison, is gonna close within weeks! 

I reckon it just wasn’t meant to be. Y’all head over there and pick up some really good deals before the doors close!
