Ding dang it’s cold! So cold that we’ll have to move this Girl’s Night Out party from the porch to the parlor! That’s right y’all! We’re gonna have us a Parlor Party with the girls and . . . Oh. My. Gosh! It’s Sister Sledge! Hey let’s all sing it with The Sisters! Hit it girls: “We are family. I’ve got all my sisters with me . . . We are family . . . Get up everybody and sing!” Now that’s a party! Momma can’t stop dancin’ an’ a prancin’ ‘round the dinin’ table! Lord have mercy! It’s time for the Conga Line! “We are family . . .”  Look out! Some party pooper’s done called the Police! Out the back door and fast!
Honey, that’s right! We sisters have flat got to stick together! And the Madison-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce has just the thing with their Women In Business program! The Big Scoop is this: It’s back and it’s scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 13 at 5:30 p.m. at the offices of the Morgan County Citizen! Ok y’all! I want every single woman in Morgan County who’s in business – service industry, retail, manufacturing, education, health care, you name it – to get over here on Jan. 13, network with some of your fellow sisters, enjoy some refreshments (and maybe a sip of wine) and meet Dr. Elise Faust of Madison Family Chiropractors! Elise is gonna give us all a little lesson in stress management! I can’t wait for y’all to meet her! She’s not only a chiropractor, but she leads a vibrant yoga practice as well as a Pilate’s class! She’s taken extensive continuing education courses in just about anything to do with health and healing, even essential oil therapy, nutrition, breathing and more!  Let’s get together and learn how to handle the stresses of life that are unique to women! Oh and sorry boys! Y’all will just have to start your own ding dang group! I’ll see all my sisters Jan. 13 right smack here at the Citizen! There will be no charge to attend this event, but if you want to make a donation to the Chamber honey we’d flat love that!
Hey and speakin’ of fabulous women . . . Kim Jensen Watts, owner of Amelia’s Apparel & Accessories, located at 172 South Main St., in Madison, is fixin’ to flat rock it out! I’m talkin’ all ‘bout her brand spankin’ new Fun & Funky section she’s workin’ on AS WE SPEAK! Ok so Kim popped over here the other day to give me this fab fashion news flash and I can’t wait to check it out (or should I say charge it out of the store with my handsome husband’s credit card?)! Anyhow this new Fun & Funky section at Amelia’s is gonna showcase cool tunic dresses, leggings, fun tops, scarves and then some! Oh and did I mention that these Fun & Funky items will sport some Fabulous prices? Well honey they flat will! Ok so y’all head on over to Amelia’s and check out her great new fashions that will look great on everyone who likes fun and funky fashion!

Business is growin’! Tequila Express, located at 207 West Washington St., in downtown Madison right down from the James Madison Inn, is expandin’! That’s right y’all! I popped over there last Friday for a delish lunch and sat down with owner Ricardo Casillas to talk ‘bout his  soon-to-be-finished expansion! Ok y’all . . . remember that fab outdoor porch area at Tequila Express? Well, honey Ricardo has enclosed the space with lots and lots of windows and it’s just beautiful! I mean, Tequila Express will soon have another 600 square feet of restaurant space! The best part is that the new space can be booked for special parties and occasions! Ricardo says it should be open by the end of this month! So I’m thinkin’ we should plan a ding dang party!  Who’s with me? Can’t wait! Oh and I almost forgot! Ricardo wanted me to let all y’all that he’s also expanded his hours of operation! He’s no longer closed from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.! Now, Tequila Express is open from 11 a.m. til 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday! Yay!

New biz in town!  Phelps Heating and Air has opened an office/showroom in Madison at 1165 Eatonton Road next to Family Dollar! It’s owned by Jason Phelps of Monroe and he’s been in business for 28 years! I popped over there today to check it out and honey they even have a showroom area with examples of their product lines from Trane and Carrier! They sell furnace, heat pump and air conditioning systems and offer maintenance and service programs. Y’all check ‘em out or give ‘em a call at 706-342-0888!
