City celebrates the beginning of the season with annual Christmas in the Country event
Santa visited Rutledge last weekend.
He stopped long enough to visit with the little ones, hand out candy canes, and spread some good cheer. And it was all a part of the small but special town's 32nd annual Christmas in the Country.
There was barbecue by Big Kev and delicious fried pork skins, boiled peanuts and funnel cakes. Visitors perused and purchased homemade soaps, jewelry, wood crafts and quilts.
Children rode a kiddie-sized train, and those of bigger sizes but perhaps young at heart opted for the horse and buggy rides.
The holiday spirit was alive and well, and welcomed all who stopped to enjoy the festivities.
