We’ll I reckon we’ll have to pop on over to Madison Hardware & Supply, located at 174 West Washington St., to see owner Bruce Gilbert ‘bout this dang white dirt! Oh right, I forgot to tell y’all that just ‘cause the Madison Hardware Store’s building’s been sold, it sure don’t mean the business ain’t open! Fact is Madison Hardware’s OPEN FOR BUSINESS Y’ALL! Hey and it’s a good dang thing too ‘cause you can get all kinds of cool stuff over at Bruce’s hardware store! Like a dang outdoor propane cooker like my handsome husband just bought 'cause he thinks he’s the male version of Paula Deen and says he’s gonna fry us up a turkey on Saturday! Well I know one thing: If that cooker thing don’t blow sky high on Saturday, I’ll be cookin’ chili in it at the 2012 Chili Cook off to reclaim the title! Yes! Or just pop over to Madison Hardware and buy you one and then some! Just don’t be a fool and make sure that turkey’s thawed out before you fry it up or there’s gonna be trouble! I’m talkin’ firetruck trouble!
Hey and since we’re talkin’ food (which is not unusual), owners of That Pizza Place at Lake Oconee say they’re fixin’ to open a second location in downtown Madison at 171 West Washington St., next door to Bake Rattle & Roll and across the street from Madison Hardware & Supply! You flat heard me right! Owners Wendy and Mike Sims and their six children (yes, I said six children) are real excited about opening in the two empty spots next to Bake Rattle & Roll! Honey, they’re going to offer dine-in, take-out and delivery! Wendy says they’re shootin’ to open the first part of February! So what can we expect? Well, Lord have mercy! They have some mighty, mighty delish pizza with great prices startin’ at $11.99 for a large or $9.99 for a medium! But honey they also cook up some great calzones, subs, salads, wings and even personal pizzas! Yum! Now a bunch of y’all already know Wendy and Mike ‘cause they are both from Morgan County so be sure to let them know you’re excited they’re comin’ down the road a spell to Madison! Anyway, y’all keep a watch on this column for more intel on That Pizza Place!
