Inez Hamby Whitlock

Inez Hamby Whitlock, 91, of Madison passed away peacefully April 7, 2012. Born May 1, 1920 in Morgan County, she was the daughter of the late George and Lily Conner Hamby. She was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church in Fairplay. Mrs. Whitlock lived her entire life in Morgan County where she enjoyed sewing, spending time with her family, gardening and cooking. She was known for her delicious Thanksgiving dressing and giblet gravy. She worked at Morgan Sportswear for more than 20 years where she developed many lifelong friends.
She and her late husband Albert enjoyed farming together also. She was preceded in  death by her late husband Albert F. Whitlock, infant twin daughters, sons Samuel and Peter (Debbie) Whitlock, grandson Bryan Whitlock, brothers Roy, George J. and Pete Hamby and sisters Doris H. Shepherd and Magnolia H. Peters Adcock.
Mrs. Whitlock leaves wonderful memories to cherish for her daughters Diane W. (Eugene) Mitchem, Patsy W. (Harry) Hanson, son George Richard (Pam) Whitlock, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A family service was held April 9 with Rev. Don Malcom officiating followed by burial at Sandy Creek Baptist Church.
The family suggests memorial gifts in her memory to the charity of your choice.
A.E. Carter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
