City Clean-up a success
To the Editor:
Madison’s Great American Clean-up volunteers enjoyed perfect weather last Saturday. Attendance was down from previous years, perhaps due to the event being scheduled on the Saturday before Easter. But litter was also down, and we saw a marked improvement in less trash for the volunteers to pick up. The one exception in this was the area around Lions Club Road, which continues to be a fast food litter and commercial trash magnet.
We’d like to thank the participating Morgan County Scouts: Reid Brock, Criston Foster, Cameron and Willam Jefferies who worked hard at our Spring Clean-up. Thanks also to their moms and our adult volunteers, including Dan Thoman for cooking the superb chili hot dogs after the cleanup. And to the City of Madison, thank you for valuable help of Colleen Hall, who we appreciate for being a talented hands-on city advocate.
