Jewel Alford, 72, of Comer died May 5, 2012. He was born January 15,1940 to Lonnie Lee Alford and Vera Harper Alford. He was married to Linda Cranford. Mr. Alford was raised in Rutledge. He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Mr. Alford is survived by his wife Linda and children, Pam Epps and Ronald, Wayne Alford and Kelly, Bradley Alford, Jackie Alford, Tracy Collis, Candice Collis and Brandon Collis; grandchildren Shelby, Rachel, Ronald, Josh, Elizabeth, Colton and Ava; his siblings, Vera Mae Dover, Sara Maughon, Lena Alford, Bill Alford and Harvey Alford. He was preceded in death by Mary Bell Mason, Dot O’Neal, Irene Roberts, Jack Alford and Red Alford.
The family received friends Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The funeral service was held at 1 p.m. in the chapel of A.E. Carter Funeral Home. Interment was at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery in Eatonton.
