William Beverly Cochran, Jr.

William B. Cochran Jr., 57, of Madison died Saturday, May 5, 2012. He was a lifelong resident of Morgan County. He was born August 3, 1954 to William B. Cochran Sr. and Jane Beckham Cochran. He graduated from Morgan County High School in 1972 and also received a degree from Athens Technical College. Bill was married to Jennifer Bone Cochran and together they raised two children, Mary Ann and Bo.
Bill was a member of Madison Baptist Church. He was a former president of the Morgan County High School Touchdown Club and remained very involved with Morgan County football.  He was retired from the City of Madison Fire Department where he served this community for over 30 years. He began working at Richter-Cochran in 1973. He remained there until 1999 and served as president during the last years. In 1999 Bill made a career change. He turned his hobby of woodworking into a successful business building cabinets. He was a master craftsman, meticulous in his work. He was an avid UGA fan and enjoyed trips to the beach but he was happiest when he was surrounded by his family.
Bill Cochran Jr. is survived by his wife, Jennifer Bone Cochran and two children, a daughter Mary Ann Cochran and her fiancé Allen Orr and a son William Beverly “Bo” Cochran III; a sister Nancy Rozier and David of Warner Robins and a brother Ricky Cochran of Madison.
The family received friend Monday, May 7 at A. E. Carter Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. The funeral service was Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Madison Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Morgan County High School Touchdown Club or to Madison Baptist Church.
