Pastor’s rant warns of things to come?
To the Editor:
Go to your computer and Google "SEAN HARRIS," then go to the website "Lawrence O'Donnell Takes Down Evangelical Preacher." You will see excerpts from Harris' 45-minute Sunday sermon advocating severe abuse of your own children. He says that if little boys want to wear little girls' clothes or if little girls act like tomboys you should PUNCH THEM, CRACK THEIR WRIST, SQUASH THEM LIKE A COCKROACH, AND ON AND ON. He ranted on for 45 minutes. This man, who is the minister of the Berean Baptist Church of Fayetteville, N.C., claims to be a man of God. These are the thoughts of an EXTREME RIGHT WING minister, not God.
As a minister shouldn't he be preaching LOVE YOUR CHILDREN even if they are different? Isn't that what Jesus would do instead of advocating trying to BEAT them into SHAPE?
Don't take my word for this rant by Sean Harris, go to your computer and you can see the video for yourself.
Is this what being a Conservative is about? If it is, then I am concerned about the direction of our country.
I am afraid for everyone who is in the minority – religious, racial, nationality and otherwise – because they may be excluded from fairness and condemned for being DIFFERENT by the EXTREME RIGHT WING CONSERVATIVES who are getting a strong hold on our country of diversity.
