Madison puts on its best for annual Spring Tour
To the Editor:
Madison shone brightly for the annual Spring Tour of Homes on May 4 and 5, with approximately 300 volunteers working to ensure our visitors saw the best Madison has to offer!
We are deeply grateful to each of the seven extraordinary homeowners – Carole, Bob, and Holly Mason; Christie Hudson; Linda and Steve Huggins; Cheryl Kimbrell; Katrin Sheehan; Betsy Wagenhauser and Alex Newton; and Kathy and Clarence Whiteside – and five downtown churches – Madison Baptist, Madison Presbyterian, First United Methodist, Church of the Advent, and Calvary Baptist – for opening their homes and sanctuaries for the Cultural Center’s tour this year. Each of you was instrumental in making this year’s tour not only possible but exceptional!
Working diligently on tour details for months prior to the tour were a house procurement committee and committee chairs. To these individuals we are indebted for their willingness to serve and serve well – Sarah Burbach, Nancy Kuperberg, Jan Manos, Deneice and Brad Rice, Emmie Smock, Celia Visscher, Beverly Abbott, Ginger Beverly, Rita Dennard, and Chris Lambert.
Each homeowner had a house captain as their main contact in the months leading up to the tour and during the tour. Our terrific house captains for this year were Ginger Beverly, Joanne Nations, Yvonne Parrish, Elise Faust, Elsie Monk, Sally Tuell, Judy Gilbert, and Joyce Thomas. Thank you for a job well done! We would also like to extend a special thank you to Jan and Bill Manos for hosting a lovely reception for the homeowners prior to the tour.
Our thank yous aren’t complete without acknowledging important support given by the Morgan County Citizen, Le Petit Jardin, Meiere House Antiques, Lowe’s, Pizza Hut, Subway at Walmart, and the City of Madison, as well as the encouragement and support from the professional staff at the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center!
