Joyce Louette Malcom

Joyce Louette Malcom, 84, of Bostwick died May 24, 2012. She was born on December 10, 1927 in Bostwick to Drew and Ruby Preston Malcom. She studied at Georgia State College for Women earning a degree in education. She went on to obtain a Specialist degree. She spent most of her career teaching in Atlanta. After retiring she also taught in Morgan County Schools. She was a member of Bostwick United Methodist Church. She will be remembered by her community as a wonderful cook. She ministered to her friends and family by providing meals to the sick and shut-ins. She loved to teach and spent over 40 years in the classroom.
Ms. Malcom is survived by her siblings Agnes Malcom Elliott, Joanne Malcom Thomas and Jerry and Gray Tillman Malcom; a brother-in-law Harold Williamson Sr. and seven nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Drue Jeanne Malcom Lupo, June Malcom, Williamson and Malcolm Williamson.
A committal Service was held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 27 at the Bostwick Cemetery. A memorial service followed at 3 p.m. at Bostwick United Methodist Church.  The family greeted friends in the fellowship hall after the service. Rev. Dog Jordan officiated assisted by Dr. Thomas Elliott Jr.
