“Bring back Erin Brokovich”

To the Editor:

Texas billionaire Harold Simmons built, in Texas, a dump site for radioactive materials that is bigger than 1,000 football fields. It is dangerously close to a major underground water source.  He has not been able to fill the dump because of ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROLS and the NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION that have guidelines to PROTECT HUMAN LIFE.
Simmons has put $15.9 million into Republican elections because, as he says, they will "BLOCK THAT CRAP," his reference to government regulations in place to protect us. The site is projected to make him billions.  He knows that Republicans already advocate easing regulations on the nuclear industry.  Romney has said he favors fast tracking permits for new nuclear plants that will benefit Simmons.
Glenn Lewis, former Texas environmental employee said "whatever federal switch has to be thrown to get URANIUM in the hole, it will be thrown; that is how Simmons works."  All the big donors,  sixteen  have given a million or more, have business and financial interests that could benefit if Romney is elected.  They are expecting a return over their investments.
Bring back Erin Brokovich.
