Sunday, July 1 is Brownwood’s God & Country Day

Attendance Sunday was about the same with some members still absent because of sickness. We are praying for all the sick and shut-ins and family members. This is vacation time for others then some are out due to work. As always we were blessed to have visitors. Our prayers are for them to be blessed when they worship with us and will know they are welcome to come back anytime we have service. Special music was “My Savior First of All,” by Pastor Ron. Bro. Ron’s message was “Come and See, Go and Tell,” Matthew 28. God wants everyone to see Jesus who was crufied. Our responsibility is to go and tell others what Jesus has done for us we have a story to share. In verse 19 the command is make disciples. Wherever we go we’re all called to share the gospel we’re all a somebody when born again you are created in the image of God. Everyone can do something for others. We can love them and pray for them. We never go alone to tell someone about Jesus, God promises Lo I am with you always even unto the end of the world. True disciples will disciple others.

Sunday night at 6 p.m. attendance was good, special music was, “Oh How I Love Jesus,” by Ernest Holt. Bro. Ron began a series of messages on, “Can Our Church Grow?” Matthew 16: 13-18 and other scriptures. Jesus met with the disciples; He asked them who do men say that I the son of man am? Some say Elijah, Jeremiah, John the Baptist or one of the prophets. Jesus said well who do you say I am? Peter said Thou art the Christ the Son of the loving God. Bless you Peter the Spirit of God hath revealed this to you. Thou art Peter a stone and upon this Rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. We must first rely on the power of God. We must pray, plan and work hard when saved we give our life to Christ.

Next Sunday July 1 is God and Country Day at Brownwood. Everyone is invited to come for this special service. After the morning service a covered dish meal will be in the Family Life Building.

During July items for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes are socks and T-shirts all sizes.

What Kind of a “Nut” is He?
He wants to run his own business,
He wants to select his own doctor.
He wants to make his own bargains.
He wants to buy his own insurance.
He wants to select his own reading matter.
He wants to provide for his own old age.
He wants to make his own contracts.
He wants to select his on charities.
He wants to educate his own children as he wishes.
He wants to make his own investments.
He wants to select his own friends.
He wants to provide his own recreation.
He wants to compete freely in the marketplace.
He wants to grow by his own efforts.
He wants to profit from his own errors.
He wants to compete with ideas.
He wants to be a man of good will.
What kind of a nut is he? He’s an American who understands and believes in the Declaration of Independence, that’s what kind.
Aren’t you glad you are, too? And don’t you wonder why so many of our fellow Americans are trying so hard to destroy the kind of life that has made us the aim and the envy of every other people on earth?
