Marjorie E. Smith Dowd
Marjorie E. Smith Dowd went home to God June 29, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Clifford Dowd and children Jim M. Dowd, Carter W. Dowd and Janice E. Dowd; three brothers Virgil, Charles and Buddy. She is survived by six children Lonnie Truelove of Monticello, Sammy (Vicky) Reese of Good Hope, Jim (Ginger) Paul of Dawsonville, (Bill) Linda Dowd of Summerville, South Carolina, Debbie Dowd of Good Hope, Dr. Craig (Deanie) Koslica of Spring Green, Wis.; two sisters, Joe (Lee) Hick and Francis Allen, 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was born in Atlanta and spent most of her married life in Lilburn. She worked for Green Giant and retired from Gwinnett County School System.
The family received friends Sunday from 5 until 7 p.m. at A. E. Carter Funeral Home in Madison. The funeral service was held Monday at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Interment was at 2 p.m. at the Cemetery of Lilburn First Baptist Church.
