It’s a “fur-st!”

Morgan County’s Humane Society ended its “fur-st” one-year celebration like any other day – with caring, loving children eager to add a new furry friend to their family and moms hesitant to make a decision without consulting Dad. Londa Champion and her children K.C. and Gracie left fairly confident that a terrier lab mix named Prissy would soon have a permanent home, but first they have to talk to Dad. Champion and her kids came all the way from Jasper County Saturday in search of a friendly canine.
“[The Humane Society of Morgan County] is so clean,” she said. “There’s no odor, and the animals look so happy.” Several pets were adopted that very day, said Belinda Bell, director, while others received the care and attention from young volunteers like Kate Reitman, daughter of Madison City Attorney Joe Reitman. “I love the way kittens play,” she said. “They love you no matter what, and they don’t judge you. And they’re cute.”
