Eva Lois Statham Edwards

Eva Lois Statham Edwards, age 83, of Covington, formerly of the  Greshamville Community died Sunday, July 22, 2012. A native of Greene County, she was born September 26, 1928 in Greensboro to the late Joe Little Statham and Willie Mae Dial Statham. She graduated from Greensboro High School. For 20 years she worked for DeKalb County as a school bus driver. After retirement they moved back to Greene County and because of her health, she had recently moved to Covington to live with her daughter. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Greshamville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lloyd Edwards in June of 1994; a daughter, Patricia Charlene Testement; and siblings, Danny V. Statham, Joseph Lamar Statham and Wallace Statham. Survivors include two daughters, Elaine Burrell of Covington and Carol Edwards of Atlanta; son, William "Billy" Edwards of the Greshamville Community; 17 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held, Wednesday, July 25 at 10 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, 1400 Farmington Road, Madison with Rev. Mike Pritchett officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Billy Edwards, Floyd Statham, Sam Statham, Trent Cameron and Anthony Lewis. The family received friends 30 minutes prior to the service at New Hope Baptist Church.
