CHEERLEADING is offered in three age groups: 5-6, 7-8 and 9-10 (as of Sept. 1, 2012). The squads will cheer at all regular season football games. T-shirts, shorts and pom-poms provided.

Flag Football is available for children ages 5-6 (as of Sept. 1, 2012). Shirts and shorts will be provided. Games will be played in Madison. Shirts and shorts will be kept by the player.

Tackle Football is offered in three age groups: 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12 (as of Sept. 1, 2012). All equipment (minus shoes) will be furnished with game jerseys and pants to be given to each player to keep. All other equipment must be returned.  Medical insurance is required.

Tri-County Football In addition to our regular football program, we are excited to offer an opportunity for our 11-12 year-old young men to participate in a tri-county league with Oconee and Barrow County Recreation Departments. One team will represent Morgan County. This will involve a selection process. The dates for this selection process will include dressing in full football equipment on Aug. 13, 2012 from 2-6 p.m. at the Recreation Gym/Community Center.  The  selection process of this team will begin at 9 a.m. on Aug. 4 on the Puritan Baseball Field.  The selection process is mandatory to make this team. This team will practice three times per week until games start in early September, when the team will only practice twice a week. Making this team will involve some travel to Oconee and Barrow counties. The cost is $65 for the selection process and an additional $70 if selected. If not selected the $65 fee will be granted toward the 11-12 Recreation League.

Coed Soccer is offered for boys and girls ages 6-13 (as of July 31, 2012).  Complete uniforms and shin guards will be provided and kept by the players.

Recreation Registration Policies No request will be taken to be with a particular team, coach or player in any competitive league where score is kept. Early registration (one week prior to deadline): $5 will be deducted from regular cost.
After the registration deadline, $10 will be added to the regular cost and the player may be placed on a waiting list until a space is available or a new team is formed. Evaluation sessions will be set up for all competitive leagues and all participants are expected to attend.  Teams will be formed and assigned to coaches by draw. Coaches’ and sponsors’ children will be placed on their teams by trading players of equal ability (per evaluation) if needed.  Any other changes must be approved by the recreation staff and a majority of the league coaches. Online registration is available at parks.morganga.org Parent information and orientation classes are mandatory.  We implemented the policy that requires parents to attend one of these classes before they can register a child in any of our youth team programs. The Madison City Council, the Morgan County Commissioners and the Morgan County Recreation Commission have adopted this policy in our ongoing effort to curb the threat of violence and misconduct of adults.
