Mark D. Roling

Mark D. Roling, 59, of Madison died August 19, 2012. He was the son of the late Buford Roling and Edith Bone Roling. He was a graduate of Morgan County High School and later attended Bob Jones University and the University of Georgia where he received a master’s of Education degree. Mark worked for the Morgan County School system until his health forced him to retire. Mark was a member of Madison Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon as well as teaching Sunday school and singing in the choir. He was in the hand bell choir and assisted with many children’s ministries. He enjoyed drama and most recently was involved with the production of Annie through the Madison Community Theater. Mark was talented with floral designs, writing and cooking. Many people in Morgan County have been blessed by Mark’s cheesecakes. Though no longer teaching Mark was a mentor to many children. He was also involved in several mission trips through the Morgan County Baptist Association.

He is survived by his mother Edith Roling and Roberto of Madison, a brother Gary Roling and Napon of Vietnam; nieces and nephews, Rebecca Morgan (Ryan), Chad Roling (Holly), Anna Grace Roling, Christopher Morgan, Colton Morgan, China Colley, Hayden Roling and Henry Roling; and many people who considered him a brother.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at A. E. Carter Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Madison Baptist Church.
