Hiring for Smith’s position depends on funding

By Kathryn Schiliro
Managing Editor

Long-time Morgan County Extension Agent Bobby Smith is leaving the county for greener pastures, namely a post in Athens, but the filling of his position is a "high priority."
According to Norman McGlohon, Northeast District Extension director, Smith's position at the Morgan County Extension Office will be filled depending on whether funds are received from the state.
"It depends on how the state budget goes," McGlohon said. "It's a high priority position."
McGlohon expects he'll know something as far as funding in the next few weeks. Until then, there's no date as to when the position will be advertised.
When and if the funding comes through, Smith's position will be posted on iPAWS, the University of Georgia's online employment system.
