Wallace celebrates 81st

Happy Birthday, Leonard! Friends of Leonard Wallace will be gratified to know his entrance into the eighth decade of life has been well-celebrated.
A preciously precocious celebration was held several days before his birthday by assorted nieces, nephews, and closely held hangers-on; as there has been no reference in the police blotter, we will assume attendees were generally well-behaved.
On the actual birthday itself his playmate June Harrell put together a major throwdown at her lake chalet, featuring friends old and new, several from out of town! We are led to believe by Ms. Harrell’s absence from church on Sunday that perhaps the party got out of hand.  But that is pure speculation.
A final party was held at the legendary Bonar Hall on Sunday evening, where Betsy and Alex Newton provided a delightful Thanksgiving inspired meal, caused by the surprise defrosting of a turkey.
The birthday boy regaled guests with tales of ushering guests around the grounds of Bonar Hall in antebellum attire for a "Gone With the Wind" party, which degenerated into tales of early Madison swapped back and forth between himself and Paul Hensler.  As one might imagine, the tongues were wagging, and much merriment ensued.
Betsy had made a delicious carrot cake, well received by all, and welcomed Leonard into his new year by reversing the “18” candles used for daughter Nicola in July, to become “81” for Leonard. So the week of celebration began and ended in precocity.
Oh law.
