Plea agreements this month from Superior Court

Staff Reports

The following persons recently were adjudicated in Morgan County Superior Court.

• Adrian Smith, 26, Nicholls, pled guilty to one count armed robbery and received a 10-year sentence of incarceration. Smith was charged in the January 5, 2006 armed robbery of the Park N Shop convenience store in Rutledge.
• Jamie Lee Lockhart, 32, Madison, pled guilty to one count theft by taking and received a 10-year probated sentence, including intensive probation and was ordered to pay $6,800 in restitution. Lockhart was arrested in October 2010 and charged with stealing two heat pumps and air conditioning units.
In another plea agreement, Lockhart pled guilty to one count theft by taking and was sentenced to 10 years probation and ordered to pay $18,500 in restitution. Lockhart was arrested in February 2011 and charged with taking “a substantial amount of used A/C equipment” from a Hightower Road location. In a third plea agreement Lockhart pled guilty to one count theft by taking and received 10 years probation and was ordered to pay $1,500 in restitution. Lockhart was arrested in October 2010 and charged with taking a heat and A/C unit from a Weaver Jones Road location. All sentences are to run concurrent.
• Debra Stephens Copeland, 48, Madison, pled guilty to one count reckless driving and was sentenced to one year probation and was fined $1,000.
• Willie Lee Tarver, 40, Wadley, Ga., pled guilty to one count possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, one count possession of marijuana, one count obstruction of an officer and was sentenced to 10 years total with three years to serve and the remainder to be served on probation.
He was also fined $1,000 and ordered to complete a drug/alcohol evaluation and undergo any recommended treatement. According to arrest warrants, Tarver was arrested in September 2011 by Georgia State Patrol officers and had approximately 1196 grams of marijuana in multiple baggies on his possession.
• Mandrell Adrian Love, 33, Madison, pled guilty to one count arson in the first degree and was sentenced to 10 years incarceration with one year to serve and the remainder on probation. He was also fined $1,000 and was banished from Morgan County. Love was arrested in July 2011 after he threatened to burn a Pine Tree Circle residence and then returned to the residence with a can of gas, poured the gas around the house and then lit the gas.
• Edward Scarebrook, 50, Madison, pled guilty to one count burglary, one count criminal damage to property, one count criminal trespass and was sentenced to seven years probation. Scarebrook was charged in October 2011 of throwing a rock through a window of the P & J Mini Mart on East Washington Street.
• Bruce Armand Baker, Jr. 35, Ellenwood, pled guilty to one count possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, one count possession of marijuana and one count driving while license suspended.
Baker was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol in September 2011.
• John Paul Meadow, 22, Madison, pled guilty to one count possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and was sentenced to seven years probation, ordered to pay a $2,000 fine and ordered to attend alcohol and drug evaluation and undergo any recommended treatment.
Meadow was stopped at a road check on Price Mill Road, Buckhead, in March 2012 and officers located three plastic bags partially full of marijuana, individual plastic bags and a set of scales in his vehicle.
• Justin Wayne Garner, 23, Rutledge, pled guilty to one count drug container violation, one count possession of marijuana, one count limited driving permit violation and received a one-year probation sentence, was fined $400 and ordered to attend alcohol/ drug evaluation and undergo any recommended treatment.
• Kelvin Briney, 28, Madison, pled guilty to one count theft by receiving stolen property and was sentenced to five years of probation and was fined $1,000. Briney was charged in February 2012 of possessing a 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am that had been reported stolen in 2006 from DeKalb County.
• Julius Marlow, 29, Madison, pled guilty to one count illegal tattooing and was sentenced to one year probation, was fined $400 and ordered to attend and complete values clarifications classes.
Marlow was arrested in January 2012 and charged with applying a tattoo to a male under the age of 18 years without confirming the age of the male and, arrest warrants state, did so as an unlicensed tattoo technician.
• Jacky Curtis Morgan, 28, Monticello, pled guilty to one count driving under the influence and was sentenced to one year probation, ordered to perform 40 hours of community service, fined $500 and ordered to complete a DUI risk reduction program.
• Aaryn Gibbs, 21, Madison, pled guilty to one count theft by receiving stolen property and was sentenced to five years probation, was fined, $1,000 and ordered to pay $300 in restitution and complete a values clarifications class.
Gibbs was arrested in April 2012 and charged with selling stolen ring to a man for $300.
• Jereius M. Hawkins, 19, Madison, plead guilty to one count sale of marijuana and was sentenced under the first offender treatment to 10 years probation with 90 to 120 days probation to be served at a boot camp detention center, was fined $1,000 and ordered to complete his GED.
Hawkins was arrested in January 2011 after he sold $20 worth of marijuana to an under cover officer.
Hawkins also pled guilty to one count criminal trespass and was sentenced to one year probation, after the completion of the boot camp sentence and ordered to undergo anger management counseling.
Hawkins was arrested in November 2011 after he kicked in the front door of an Orchard Grove apartment.
• Robert Lee Clark, II, 26, Columbia, S.C., pled guilty to one count armed robbery, one count aggravated assault, one count reckless driving and one count driving while license suspended and was sentenced to 20 years incarceration.
In July, 2011 Clark was arrested after, warrants state, he entered the Deerfield Inn in Madison and pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money. Clark fled the scene on foot but was eventually stopped by officers in Greene County while driving a Chrysler-Dodge Charger. After the stop, warrants allege, officers located a large amount of cash and a handgun in the vehicle.
Clark also pled guilty to one count armed robbery and one count aggravated assault and received a 20-year sentence in relation to a second robbery of the Deerfield Inn. Both sentences are to run concurrent.
Clark also pled guilty to a third charge of armed robbery and aggravated assault and received another 20-year sentence to run concurrent with the two previous 20-year sentences. In this plea agreement Clark pled guilty to robbing a Subway restaurant employee by using a firearm in May, 2011.
• Andrew Jalien Richardson, 34, Madison, pled guilty to one count possession with intent to distribute marijuana and was sentenced to 10 years incarceration and was banished from the city limits of Madison. Richardson was arrested in November 2011 after officers located approximately 42 small plastic bags of marijuana and one one-ounce bag of marijuana under a bed at Richardson’s Sulgrave Drive apartment.
• George Brandon Pickett, 26, Madison, pled guilty to one count financial transaction card fraud and received two years probation, was fined $500 and ordered to pay $53.35 probation.
Pickett was arrested in September 2011 after he used another person's debit card to make a $53.35 purchase at a Bostwick convenience store.
• Mary Jill Peters, 29, Madison, pled guilty to one count theft by taking and was sentenced to three years probation, fined $1,000 and ordred to complete a drug/alcohol treatment program.
Peters was charged in February 2012 with taking two saddles and a saddle pad, all valued at $3,100, from a Sugar Creek Trail, Buckhead, residence.
• Jerodrick Washington, 33, Atlanta, pled guilty to one count forgery in the first degree and was sentenced to 10 years probation, fined $1,000, ordered to complete a drug and alcohol treatment program and ordered to stay out of Morgan County.
Washington was arrested in January 2012 after he attempted to cash a $1,935.13 check drawn on a Madison motorcycle shop account. The check was forged, warrants state.
• Thomas Marion Lewis, Jr., 66, Buckhead, pled nolo contender to one count possession of methamphetamine and was sentenced to five years probation, ordered to perform 100 hours of community service and ordered to complete an alcohol/ drug treatment evaluation.
Lewis was arrested in February 2012 after officers found 1.02 grams of methamphetamine in a plastic bag inside a metal pill container in an air vent in his Oconee Road, Buckhead, residence.
• Charma Patrice Paris, 31, Augusta, pled guilty to one count theft by conversion (misdemeanor) and one count driving while license suspended and was sentenced to one year with 48 hours to serve in detention and was fined $500.
Paris was accused in December 2011 of converting a Toyota Corolla to her own personal use after agreeing to a one-day rental from a car rental company.
• Quintavia Wade, 23, Madison, pled guilty to one count aggravated stalking and was sentenced under the first offender treatment to 10 years probation. She was also fined $1,000, banned from Morgan County, ordered to have no contact with her victim and was ordered to complete parenting classes.
Wade was arrested in May 2012 after she violated a temporary protective order a woman had filed against her in February.
• Brittany Lynn Leach, 23, pled guilty to two counts battery and two counts simple assault and was sentenced to four years to be served on probation, was fined $1,000, ordered to pay $752.53 to the Georgia Crime Victims Compensation Program, ordered to have no contact with the victim and ordered to complete anger management counseling.
Leach was arrested in November 2011 after she cut a woman with a box cutter and attempted to stab a second woman with the box cutter.
