James Harper
James Harper, 69, of Madison, died on September 13, 2012 at his home. He was the son of the late Carl and Annie Belle Vaughn Harper. He was born on December 9, 1942 in Eatonton. Mr. Harper was married to Peggy Estes Grubbs. He was self-employed as a grading contractor.
Mr. Harper is survived by his wife, Peggy, and children: Tracey Harper, Brandon Grubbs and Gayle, Clint Grubbs and Christy Brown and Sonny. He leaves nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Harper's surviving sisters are Eva Winslett, Ida Mae Ramsey, Vera Cranford, and Maebelle Batchelor. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Lottie Chalker, Charles Harper, Mary Chapman, Myrtle Lawrence and Francie Bloodworth.
The family received friends on Saturday, September 15, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. A graveside service followed at 1:30 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Brownwood Baptist Church.
