POTUS alienating ‘Muslim world’ and Israel
Obama promised to make us safe by reaching out to the Muslim world. He promised to make them like us.
Iran is very close to getting an atomic bomb. An armada of aircraft carriers and submarines from 25 nations are converging on the Strait of Hormuz in an unprecedented show of force. Protestors are lauding Osama Bin Laden and telling America to “Go to you-know-where.” Yet Obama snubs our only stable ally in the region – Israel – yet again…just this week, the same week our embassies are being attacked across 24 counties in the Arab world.
Tragically, the first assassination of an American diplomat in 50 years occurred this week. Americans are being murdered. Does the Media even care? No, they lambast Mitt Romney for saying what everyone is thinking, “It’s never too early for the United States government to condemn attacks on Americans and to defend our values."
It’s better to be correct (and perhaps a little bit clumsy) than timid and silent. Both Secretary of State Clinton and Governor Romney said the exact same thing about the embarrassing apology from the State Department, and yet the press focuses on Romney instead of the real tragedy…the deaths of American diplomats.
When Romney doesn’t talk about foreign policy he’s lambasted for not knowing anything about it. When he talks about it, he’s viciously attacked for “butting in” on the president’s turf. Candidate Obama made a career out of attacking Bush’s foreign policy – a policy he later adopted once he got into the White House. Why shouldn’t candidate Romney similarly opine, especially since our president won’t.
It took Obama 15 hours to mention the attacks on our embassies, and when he did so the first thing he did was to condemn Romney. Then he ran off to a fundraiser in Vegas.
The proverbial “3 a.m. phone call” came, and the President didn’t bother to answer. Where is the leadership?
Worst of all is the White House’s lame assertion that an unheard of You Tube video is to blame for these highly coordinated, military-style attacks using rocket propelled grenades. The administration claims this wave of Islamic violence, “has nothing to do with US foreign policy.” Does anyone believe that? Was it just coincidence that it happened on 911?
Despite what Obama would like us to believe, the “Arab Spring” has turned into a vicious, anti-American winter. His polices of apologies and appeasement have made us the most vulnerable in the Middle East since the glory days of Jimmy Carter.
But that’s not the worst part. Thanks to Obama’s trillion dollar cut to the military, America will have the smallest Navy since 1915, the smallest Army since 1935, and the smallest Air Force since its conception.
I guess, “America’s chickens are coming home to roost.” Can’t we do better?
