Music ministry “job well done”
First of all I want to thank God and Dr. Kathy Hubbard our minister of music and the choir for a job well done on their second anniversary. Kathy works very hard at everything she does to make sure it is just right. Praise God for her. To the many choir solos and groups you all were also great. Thanks to each one of you for coming and making this anniversary a success. May God continue to bless you in your ministry. I thought the weather had forgotten it was fall until I went outside late Sunday evening. It’s chilly we might just jump from summer to winter but whatever it will be all right with me. We’ll have another good crop of pecans this year if I can get them before the deer, squirrels and birds.
At our morning worship our deacons led us in a powerful devotion. We also had baptism. Pastor T. came with his mini message to the new converts from Mark 11: 21, text, “Say it and have a little Faith.” These words of Jesus do not mean we can obtain anything we want on our own if we think positively if you stop downing yourself. Prayer is always the key to heaven. It’s not some sort of comic blank check from God to us. Jesus meant that anything is possible with faith. Now that you have turned your life over to Jesus you are going to come in contact with more people trying you out to see if you are for real. Don’t entertain them keep the faith you said it. “Praise God.”
To be in a position for God to answer our prayers we must be believers, we must not hold a grudge against another and we must not pray with selfish motives. Whatever you are dealing with in your life have faith in God always speak in faith. A lot of people need to change their way of thinking if things are not going well for them. They must speak it and have faith. Praise God! We had a house full on Saturday night and again for worship service Sunday. We have come this far by faith. Thank you Lord.
After baptism Minister Derrick Worrell came forth. Our choir gave music and by that time Pastor T. was ready again to give us another word from the Lord. It came from 1 John 4: 1-6, text, “Can you hear me now?”
One thing for sure and we can be confident that He (God) will listen to us whenever we ask Him for anything in line with His will. Do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. There are many false prophets in the world. If a prophet does not acknowledge Jesus that person is not from God. You belong to God because of the spirit that lives in you is greater than the spirit of the world. Can you hear me now? Praise God. God listens to us because we belong to Him. Prayer is more listening than talking so sometime we just need to stop talking so much so we can hear from the Lord.
Thank you pastor for those words from the Lord.
The fair is in town lookout for rain. Every time the fair comes it rains. Praise the Lord. It does it for a reason. Now you guess why?
