Eurtis Cottrell Hamilton

Eurtis Cottrell Hamilton, 80, of Madison, died October 6, 2012 after a brief illness. She was born on September 6, 1932 in Worth County. She worked as a seamstress. She was married to the late Thomas Roger Cottrell and later to Charles Hamilton. She enjoyed gardening and travel. She was a great cook and devoted mother and grandmother. Mrs. Hamilton loved her church and listening to gospel music.
Mrs. Hamilton is survived by her husband, Charles Hamilton and children; Jerry Cottrell, Helen Cottrell Couch, Raymond Cottrell and Anthony Cottrell as well as Jeff Hamilton and Scotty Hamilton. Her grandchildren are Jason Cottrell, Jody Cottrell, Josh Cottrell, Christopher Rowe, Anthony Cottrell, Tiffany Rhodes, Amber Vandiver, Rebecca Cottrell, Charlie Hamilton, Nick Hamilton, Michele Hamilton and Tanner Hamilton. She also leaves nine great grandchildren and 19 nieces and nephews. She is survived by a brother, A.G. Fowler and two sisters, Irene Carver and Geraldine Carter. She was preceded in death by Thomas Roger Cottrell and siblings, Thelma Vicker, Gene Fowler, Lorell Fowler and Hiram Bud Fowler.
The family received friends on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. at A.E. Carter Funeral Home. The funeral service was held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Sugar Creek Baptist Church. Interment followed at the church cemetery.
