Resource Preservation board members looking for old Morgan County maps

Members of the Morgan County Resource Preservation Advisory Board all have been reappointed to three-year terms. They spent their last meeting determining which member would collect maps from residents in which areas of the county.
Years ago board members completed an oral history project and posted its findings on MorganCountyHeritage.org. During this project they were able to collect a couple of maps of Buckhead. One map, drawn by Martha Nunnally, depicts Buckhead around 1910.
Project officer Tara Cooner said they also have aerial images that may help those interviewed recollect where businesses and homes were located.
Elzata Brown will collect information for Fairplay, Sara Lynn McHugh for Rutledge, Ona Nunn for Bostwick, Carol Cross for Godfrey and Gail Wade for Apalachee.
Cooner then told those present that there were no more cemetery books. For a cost of $5 she can burn a CD for those wanting a color copy. The book provides the location of cemeteries in the county, of which there are at least 100.
