Last Thursday, the Morgan County Parks and Recreation Department held its yearly Volunteer Banquet. At the banquet, they announced the volunteers of the year and the sponsors of the year.
The volunteers of the year for 2012 are Jim Ferguson, Thomas Davis, and Scott Webb. Madison Mini Warehouse and Pagett & Whetzel Family Dentistry are the sponsors of the year.
An additional award was given to Bill Wood in honor and recognition of 37 years of service to the Morgan County Parks and Recreation Department.
Wood stepped down as director this summer, handing the title to Lance Alexander, who was eager to recognize his predecessor’s influence on his life.
“This particular man taught me the most valuable lessons about baseball – and about life,” said Alexander.
Congratulations to Bill Wood and the Rec. Department’s volunteers and sponsors of the year for 2012.
