MCMS student arrested after allegedly selling pot

On Wednesday, Nov. 14 a 13-year-old Morgan County Middle School student was arrested and charged with the sale of a controlled substance after he allegedly sold marijuana to another male student.
According to Morgan County Sheriff’s Office reports, a 14-year-old student was interviewed by school officials after someone observed that he had possession of marijuana. The student, reports state, told authorities that he had obtained the marijuana from another student while at the school. That student, the 13-year-old, was interviewed by officials, reports state, and allegedly confessed to selling the marijuana to the 14-year-old student.
The 14-year-old told authorities that he purchased the marijuana for $5.
The 13-year-old was transported to the Jasper County Juvenile Court the same day of the arrest. The student that allegedly purchased the marijuana was turned over to his mother at Morgan County Middle School by the Morgan County Juvenile Justice office.
