Amici donates $1,000-plus to Hurricane Sandy relief effort

By Stephanie Johns

Six of the Amici restaurants, including the Madison location, donated 10 percent of its sales on Nov. 19 to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy relief. A seventh location in Milledgeville held its own fundraiser.
According to Secretary Mandy Reese, the six restaurants made donations based on proceeds collected throughout the entire day. In all, they donated in excess of $1,000.
Reese said that their Covington store hosted a similar event following Hurricane Katrina. Between that and the groups’ Spirit Nights where they donate a portion of proceeds to schools, they came up with the idea for this relief effort.
