Missionaries speak Sunday

Attendance Sunday morning for the worship service was somewhat down, some were out due to sickness, others having family gatherings. Our visitors are always a blessing to us and we hope and pray they are blessed and uplifted by being in our services.  We hope they will continue to come as God leads. The choir special was, “Shine Jesus Shine.” We welcomed IMB Missionaries Robert and Rhonda Peppers to our service Sunday. They are serving as missionaries in Guinea West Africa with their children. They work with the Muslims. These people have never gone to school; it’s different to share with them than it is with others that have been schooled. In the Bible we know of many times that Jesus told Parables to people that probably never went to school, the missionaries share the gospel by telling a story to communicate with the people they come in contact with like Jesus did. All the missionaries that go to places everywhere to tell about Jesus need our prayers and financial support. At this time of year we support the Lottie Moon Christmas offering. This offering goes to support the ones that go for the cause of Christ to witness to people that may not ever hear about Jesus from anyone else. There is rejoicing in heaven every time one lost person is saved. At the close of the service Pastor Ron asked Robert and Rhonda to stand with him at the front of the church and the congregation joined them for prayer. The Peppers will be going back to West Africa in February 2013. Keep them in your prayers.

Sunday night at 6 p.m., attendance was good. Bro. Ron brought a message from Hebrews 10:1-10.
Thanks to everyone that decorated the church for this Christmas season.

When Christmas comes again
When Christmas comes again
Some of us may not be here.
When Christmas comes again
Spread around your words of cheer.
To every one you can
Look with joy to Christmas time.
And sing in sheer delight;
Listen to the bells that chime
Their gladsome – “Silent Night.”
In such happy Christmas days
Be you a friend indeed –
Know the joy your giving pays,
To help some friend in need.
All may join the Yuletide cheer
And give as best they can –
Some of us may not be here
When Christmas comes again,
Why defer until too late.
The good we could have done?
Why forget or pause or wait,
And thus be friend to none?
Tho’ some never understand
The good we tried to do –
Blessings, love for others planned
Come back to you and me.
Then remember friend or foe
And, tho’ your gift be small,
Let your love to others flow,
Ere comes the last low call.
Some kind deed or word of cheer
May ease the sting of pain –
Some of us may not be here
When Christmas comes again
Jesus is the reason for the season!
