Christmas program goes off very “professionally”

Sorry I messed up last week, and this week I've had my same old crud. Didn't get to attend and receive my weekly feeding on Sunday, so I'll use a few notes about our sermon of last week.
Taking his message from Hebrews 6:4-6,  Dr. Butch talked to us about Five Ways to Lose Your Salvation and the greatness of God's security: (1) To declare God's grace insufficient, you cannot earn grace; (2)  If you can find the faith to be faulty, His faith got us saved; (3) For Christ to be an Indian giver, to take back all He has given to us or take back His righteousness, when He sees us He sees the blood  of the Lamb; (4) You'd have to have the pardon removed from you, you have to convince God to fair – or to lie – or change His mind; (5) We've had our soul in our own hands, when we were saved He became the keeper of our soul. And He does not change His mind.

On Sunday night our Christmas program, I hear, went off really professionally. Thank you, Ruby, for your time and patience to make our program a success. Then afterwards, with a good crowd and visitors, delicious snacks were served.

There is a decorated box in the sanctuary for "in-church" Christmas cards to save on postage.
Caroling is coming up for anyone that would like to go visit and sing.

We are enjoying our Wednesday night suppers, and thanks to Ginny Bell for keeping it going. It only costs a $2 donation each to eat at 6:30. It benefits our Youth Department.

We still have so many on our prayer list. O. L. Jordan had recent cataract eye surgery. Cliff Walker  has had a bout with double pneumonia. Prayers they will be well soon. And it was so good to have a nice visit with Jessie and Lou Comans and find Jessie feeling so much better. Always remember,  that our God is so good.

Last Wednesday night Against the Downpour, Jac Rip (Christian rap artist) and Jake Sherrill, special speaker of the night, attended the fund-raising event for the Greene County Wrestling Team, put on by Coach Greg Simmons. It was a huge success and the gospel of Christ was shared through music, message and rap! There was a little something for everyone. (Thanks to Lorri Stacy for this information).

Belated anniversary to James and me, and to Vicky and Jerry Vanwhy on Dec. 7. We celebrated our 56th year and I think I heard that Vicky and Jerry celebrated 27 years.
Belated birthday wishes for Ryan Johnson on the 11th, Tyler Ward and John Lawson will celebrate on the 13th, Ashley Stewart on the 14th, Blake Stewart on the 20th. Happy anniversary to Eleanor and Charles Johnson on the 15th.

When Christmas doesn't fit your expectations of what the perfect holiday should be, think about how Joseph and Mary probably didn't think that manger was the perfect place for their child to be born. But look at what a perfect Christmas that turned out to be (copied).
So until next week, may the Lord bless you real good.
