One hundred and 30 bricks have been sold through the Morgan County Library Buy-A-Brick Campaign.
“We’re thrilled at the number of bricks purchased,” said Morgan County Library Manager Miriam Baker. “They will greatly enhance the area out there.”
The bricks will be placed around the Traveling Musicians statue.
“It’s a nice, open setting,” she said. She added that the city of Madison has been completing the sidewalk there and that the Magnolia Garden Club will begin their plantings shortly.
The deadline for the next order of bricks will be March 15.
Students from Morgan County High School created a commercial about the campaign. The commercial originally ran during the “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” event in November.
To view the commercial, visit www.uncleremus.org/morgan.htm. The link to both the commercial and an order form for the personalized bricks is located to the right.
Those interested in purchasing a personalized brick also may pick up an order form from the library’s office.
Bricks are $20 each and will include the purchaser’s name as well as the title and author of their favorite book in three lines of text. Each line may be up to a maximum of 18 characters, including spaces. Location requests cannot be honored due to the number of bricks involved.
