Heat making the flowers bloom

Summer in the middle of January? Can you believe this weather? My yellow bells are blooming and if it keeps on, my daffodils will be in full bloom. Ain't natural. We do need some cold weather but this sure has been nice. I pray all of you are enjoying the beginning of 2013. So far, so good here.

Sunday was a beautiful day, mostly short sleeves, no coats. Sunday night I actually think the air was turned on. Oh well. Will we pay for this later on?

Talking to a good crowd with several visitors, Butch took his message from John 4:1-23 following good singing by our newly formed choir. Sunday night, Psalm 3, "The song of confidence in God," was the title of his sermon.

We were glad to have the Wilsons visiting from Tignall and visitors from Newborn, then on Sunday night we were glad to have the Ronny Hightower family with us. I know I left out some visitors, but I failed to get other names. Thank you for coming and we hope you received a blessing.

Against the Downpour sang at Summit Church on Sunday morning where they helped to lead in the  worship hour.
Chelsea Stacy is honored to hear that she had made the Dean's List for the Fall Semester. In the three semesters she's been at Toccoa Falls College she has made the Dean's List twice and Honor Roll once. Congrats, Chelsea.

Jan. 19th starts up the ABC Auction with Rodney Bowles. He'll be in Crawfordville with a big load of merchandise. Starts at 6 p.m.
We send our sincerest sympathy to the families of Vicky Morrow and David Busbee. Vicky, wife of James Morrow, passed away last week suddenly.   David Busbee lost an uncle the middle of the week, then on Friday lost his aunt. Several in our church were there to pay respects and comfort the family at the funeral home and at the funeral. Love and prayers for both families.
Wednesday nights Butch will be teaching Christian ethics at 7:15. What does the Bible say about suicide, lust, abortion, subjects hardly ever touched on? Come and see. Come early and enjoy supper for a $2 donation.
The Inspirations will again be at Calvary Baptist Church in Statham on Jan. 24th.

Happy birthday to our own Darlin' Lilly Martin who will celebrate her 10th birthday on the 18, Hiliary Simmons the 21, to Jessie Comans the 24, and Alex Smith the 28.
News being short this week, I will sign off.
So until next week, may the Lord bless you real good.
