The Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) approved a change in roofing materials for Paul and Allison Bourgeois at 444 N. Main St.

While the metal ribbed roofing is “less preferable” than standing seam roofing, HPC Consultant Ken Kocher said the proposed roofing has been allowed by the HPC in the past.

“I don’t see it having a negative impact on the district,” he said.
Commissioners voted their agreement with the condition that the applicants choose one of the lighter two colors instead of the third, black color.

Paul said one of the lighter colors was his preference, too.
Kocher said they will address two violations during their February meeting. One violation pertains to a change in door and another pertains to driveway gates.

The group also plans to have their year-end dinner and review in February.
