AWANAs to start meeting Feb. 6

Attendance Sunday morning was good, we had several out due to sickness and surgery. We are still praying for these hoping they will be back in God’s house soon. We were again blessed to have visitors; we’re always glad to have them and hope they received a blessing and food for thought that will be helpful to them during the coming week and will come be with us again soon.

The choir’s special was “When we all get to Heaven.” Bro. Ron’s message, “Being Committed,” II Timothy 1: 8-12 and other scripture. Paul was in prison knowing before long his life would end. He was writing to Timothy encouraging him to continue and do God’s will, trusting and serving Him. He told him to stir up the strength and boldness he had in him and not to be afraid of people, always love them and tell them about Jesus and never be ashamed of the gospel of Christ. Qualities of commitment must be in place, in Paul’s life he had a thankful attitude for service clear conscience is an avenue for service, when he saw results of service it brought joy to him, His concern for Timothy leads to prayer, he told Timothy he prayed for him everyday and had a longing to see him. Paul said he was in prison for the right reason, confined by divine appointment and called by divine appointment. He knew what it was to suffer for the cause of Christ, He knew his commitment cross was suffering, in prison beaten and persecuted. His attitude toward suffering, I’m not ashamed. Paul’s commitment conviction, God’s power to save and His power to keep. He said he was called to salvation to serve, to preach the gospel, be an apostle of gospel, teacher and saved to live forever with Jesus. How are we committed to the cause of Christ today? God said He would be with us and equip us for whatever He calls us to do.

On Sunday evening at 6 p.m. Bro. Ron’s message, “Faith, Hope, Love”, Heb: 10:19-25, we are here to worship Faith, Hope and Love. These words are a vital part of worship; Love will always exist, God is Love. We are complete in Christ, Christ died once for all. Heb: 10:12. We have a three-fold invitation to worship Him. Let us, means all on the same team. Faith, draw near with a true heart. Hope, without wavering because God is faithful. Let us consider one another in Love, to love and good deeds, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together as the manner of some is.
Brownwood AWANA Program will start meeting on Wednesdays on February 6 at 6:45 p.m. We have been meeting on Sunday nights.   

The Morgan County Associational Brotherhood meeting will be at 7 p. m. on February 7 at Beacon Heights Baptist Church. The executive committee will meet at 6:30 p.m.
The Brownwood Women’s Ministry will meet at 10 a.m. at the Brownwood Community Building. Please bring brunch food.
Sonny, Mary, Rebekah, Rachel and Zach Wood have returned home after visiting Sarah and James Folsom in Cincinnati, Ohio. We thank God they had safe travel and a great time while there.

Monday night I was among many that visited with the family and friends of Bill Davis at A.E. Carter Funeral Home. Our Christian sympathy goes out to his family during this time knowing they will trust God for all their needs in the days, weeks and months ahead.
Margie Ward visited Ernest Ward on Wednesday afternoon.
Friday afternoon Margie Ward visited Betty Bailey, Lon Davis, Lovie and Bryan McGiboney.

Enthusiasm
People grow old not from playing but because they quit playing.
God gave us a neck for a purpose to stick it out sometimes.
A Christian will not amount to much unless there is enthusiasm in his Christianity.
