Although it was reported earlier this summer that Madison’s Eatonton Rd. Blockbuster location was getting ready to say its final goodbyes, it seems that the corporation has pulled the plug on the plan, allowing the video rental store to remain open for business indefinitely.Â

“We just decided to come to an agreement with the landlord,â€� said Blockbuster spokesperson Jeff Seig. “Sometimes, these things just happen.â€�Â

The store is the only Blockbuster location in Morgan County and employs five staff members who will all be able to stay on with the company.Â

Madison’s Blockbuster has been operating since 1999 and is one of more than 8,000 stores in more than 23 countries around the world.Â
