Boys and Girls Club plans to work with rec. department
The Boys and Girls Club of Madison-Morgan County plans to coordinate their athletic activities with the Morgan County Parks and Recreation Department, according to president of the board for the local chapter Harris Warbington.
"We are going to work diligently to coordinate our outside activity with the recreation department," Warbington said.
He said the Boys and Girls Club has been in discussion with the recreation department since February.
The next step for the local chapter, according to Warbington, is finding a new director. He said the director will discuss possible athletics with the recreation department.
To clear up any misconceptions about the club, Warbington said his organization always works in conjunction with local recreation departments when it comes to athletics. He said that athletics usually makes up about 20 percent of Boys and Girls Club activity.
Warbington said it will be up to the new director to decide which programs the new chapter will include some of which will be athletics. He said the club still plans to open in mid-October.
