Local revivals to be held this week
Sunday services were good with visitors in the congregation. We truly pray you received a blessing and will return to worship with us.
Lou began his sermon by saying that if we don’t stand tall in God’s Army we will not get in. Let Him in to sup with you taking his message from Revelation 2, his sermon was titled “Overcome. We are over-comers because we have accepted Jesus Christ on His terms. If not you are still hanging on to the things of the world and working for Satan. You can be an over-comer, keep struggling, and striving to do what God chooses. You cannot do it on your own. We have to do and worship through His Word in spirit and in truth. He guides us everyday. He will not let His Army perish.
We were excited to have a new “little one with us on Sunday. Little Miss Karity Lane Sears was a first time visitor and is the precious daughter of Kelly and Jamie Sears and the proud grandmother of Brenda Bryant. We were also able to see for the first time Little Miss Kennedy Rebecca Barbaree on Saturday. Kennedy is the six-month-old daughter of Kenny and Christy Jenkins Barbaree of Eatonton
Tommy Bumgarner had a praise on Sunday. It so happened that he was in Minnesota and near the place of the collapsed bridge. He had stopped to eat and we praise God that he was hungry or he would probably have been known as “one of the fatalities. Thank you Lord for your blessings.
Tom and Lisa Pharees visited Lou and Jessie this weekend. We were happy to see James Vanwhy, who I understand will be leaving out for another area on Thursday.
Angella and Wally Smith were in Milledgeville this weekend for a Bike Fest.Â
Anna and Ray visited with their Grandpa Bill and Sandra Smith.Â
The families of Betty and Morris King enjoyed a camping trip this weekend.
There are a couple of revivals that I’d like to announce beginning with next Monday. Almon Baptist in Covington will begin on the 13, as will Freeman’s Creek Baptist in Farmington. I had announced that I would be singing on Tuesday night, that date has been changed to Monday night the 13. I would like to see our church well represented to support me. I have no talent only what my Lord has chosen for me and I gladly sing for His glory only. If you need directions you can get in touch with me.
We attended a singing at the Parks Mill camping area on Saturday where we heard the Gibson Family in concert. They are a blue grass gospel group out of Lawrenceville.
We are getting excited that our AWANA’s will be starting up again on the 15. We have some new workers as well as a lot of activities for your children including a light supper beginning at 6 p.m. We’d like to have you the parent as well to help if you so desired.
Again I ask that you please remember our prayer list as you pray. Eurtiss and Charles Hamilton, Kathleen Bumgarner, Betty and Cliff Walker, Mrs. Eleanor Brunot, Mary Creek, O. L.Jordan, Janet and Clay Bumgarner, Charles Johnson, Betty McDaniel, Roy and Katie Miller and Mildred Lyle. Most of these are having serious problems and gong through stressful testing.
Until next week may the Lord bless you real good.
