Local is honored for her retirement
Willie Ann Johnson was honored last Thursday evening, January 31, at Town 220 on her retirement from Madison Family Medicine. She started working for Dr. L.K. Lewis in 1963 and worked for him until he retired in 2002. She has since worked for Dr. Dan Zant and Dr. Pam Hall until she retired last week. Those attending her retirement dinner were Dr. Lewis, Dr. Zant, Dr. Hall, Joyce Robbins, Janice Philippi, Barbara Powers, Betty Edwards, Juanita Tyson, Jennifer Berse and Blue Veasley.
Nannette Erb entertained a group of ladies from the Morgan County High School class of 1955 with a luncheon at her home on the Monticello Highway last Tuesday. Among those enjoying this occasion were Pat West Kirk from Blairsville, Pat Eidson Puckett of Alpharetta, Joan Riden Wallace from Decatur, Joan Hughes Kelly from McDonough, Frances Bell Wingfield from Martinez, Shirley Massey Self, Patsy Harridge Baldwin, Shirley Norris Morris, Miriam Bell Foster, Margaret Edwards Fitzpatrick, and Charlotte Howard Carson.
Sympathy is extended to the family of Eugene Moore who died last week in Tennessee. Interment was in Morgan Memorial Park last Thursday.
Gladys Emmett has been a patient at the Medical College in Augusta following a fall last week.
Robert Morris is a patient in Atlanta Medical Center.
Pamela Hall Meyer is a patient in Crawford Long Hospital following a heart attack last week while she was attending the Jefferson-Jackson dinner at the World Congress Center.
