Taylor Jeaux Kinchen
Taylor Jeaux Kinchen of Morgan County, passed away on January 21, 2008, of complications from cancer. She was six years old.
Taylor lived in the community of Godfrey all her life, and attended Morgan County Primary School, where she would have been a first-grader. She enjoyed playing soccer and spending time with her two older sisters, Shelby, 12, and Kourtney, 10, and she loved listening to Elvis Presley songs on her green iPod. She and her family attended St. James Catholic Church in Madison.
Taylor was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Luticia Dupuy Kinchen of Dutchtown, Lousisiana. She is survived by her sisters and her parents, Pheral J. and Paula Drawdy Kinchen; paternal grandfather, Woodrow W. Kinchen, Jr., of Munford, Tennessee; maternal grandparents, Larry Drawdy, Sr., and Paula Lutz Drawdy, of Savannah; great-grandmother Lois Drawdy, of Lawrenceville; her godmother, Michele Nyberg, of Savannah, and her godfather, William S. “Sonny” Bonner, of Jackson. She leaves behind cousins Larry Drawdy III, Bobby Drawdy, and Olivia Loper of Savannah, and Jessica Gullette and Zachary Gullette of Memphis, Tennessee; aunts and uncles Jay and Dawn Gullette of Memphis and Gene and Angela Loper and Larry Drawdy, Jr. and Leslie Drawdy of Savannah, and a large extended family in Savannah, southern Louisiana, Texas, and Memphis, Tennessee.

Richard David Brooks Sr.
Richard David Brooks Sr., 59, died February 1, 2008 in Madison. He was the son of the late Robert (R.B.) Brooks and the late Leola Brooks. He was born August 29, 1948 in Newton County.
He is survived by his wife Doris Brooks; his four children, Gloria Brooks of Madison, Richard Brooks Jr. (Shakila) of Monroe, Randy Brooks (Gaynel) of Madison, Baby Girl (Elinda Brooks) Binion (Greg) of Madison; four grandchildren, Shaquenna, Antonio, Jessica and Jesse Brooks; and 10 other grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Katie Mae Smith of Social Circle, Fannie Boswell, Ella Lett, both of Madison, Sheleane Jackson of Newborn, Estelle Smith of Covington, Essie Terrell of Social Circle, Melvin Franklin of Rutledge and Jessie B. Smith of Newborn; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and many friends.
Marcus Brooks, Edward Brooks, Janice Brooks and Johnny P. Brooks preceded him in death.
Funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 9 at Thankful Baptist Church with the Rev. Alfred Murray and Evangelist G. M. Cole officiating. Interment was in Thankful Baptist Church.
Casket bearers were Bobby Boswell, Johnny Brooks Jr., John Mathis, Eddie Boswell, Henry Brooks Jr. and Marshall Wright. Flower bearers were Jo-Ann Morgan, Sharon Brooks, Shaveika Boswell, Lakeshia Boswell, Brittany Coats and Vicki Lewis.
Jones and Turner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Bobbie Jean Lawrence
"Miss Bobbie”
Bobbie Jean Lawrence, 64, died February 1, 2008. She was born in Madison on February 13, 1943 to Lessie Bell Lawrence and the late John Henry Lawrence.
Miss Bobbie, as she was called by many, graduated from Pearl High School before traveling north to Jamaica, New York; she later moved to New Jersey giving a helping hand in the care of her nieces and nephews. She continued to go back in the direction of the South and returned to her roots in Madison to give a helping hand to her mother in the care of her father. Most of her life was giving and helping others.
She is survived by her mother, Lessie Bell Lawrence, a devoted companion, Tommy Perryman, one sister, Lillie Franklin of Somerset, New Jersey, a brother, James Lawrence of Madison, a sister-in-law, Betty Lawrence of North Brunswick, New Jersey, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many other relatives and dear friends. Her father, John Henry Lawrence and a brother, John Willie Lawrence, preceded her in death.
Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 9 at Barrows Grove Baptist Church in Buckhead with the Rev. W. H Gaither officiating. Interment was in Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery.
Casket bearers and flower bearers were church members, family and friends.
Mapp-Gilmore Pyramid Funeral Services, LLC was in charge of arrangements.
