“Remember God doesn’t need your capabilities. He needs your availability”
By Mae Buice
What a beautiful Sunday morning with the church filled with those waiting to receive a message to their heart and I pray they did get that special touch.
“Where the Soul never Dies”, a precious old song; where is your soul going to spend eternity? Lou took his message from Mark 9: 33. He knows what we’re doing or thinking at all times. That all seeing eye is watching. He groans in the Spirit for those that are lost. He gave us a choice to either deny or accept. When He hung on that cruel cross there were two that had a choice. Jesus, sinless, hanging and dying between the two and He did this for you and me so that we could have life more abundantly. We can still come into God’s house and feel the old time spirit. Have you made a choice and do you get up in the morning telling Him, “I’m all yours?”
Fourth Sunday night is our Singspiration that’s where we all feel free to show God and the church the talents of which we’ve been blessed. And we were all blessed Sunday night as so many came forth with their talents. We encourage our young people to show what God has given them the opportunity to do.
All three of the Bell children, Chelsea, Caleb and Allison were in Perry last week showing their calves. Don’t know for sure about any awards but it’s an award for you just to participate.
Some of our congregation is feeling better while others are still stricken with the bugs that are going around. Jessie has had a rough week but at this writing is feeling better. Others have been in the hospital, others having special tests and surgery ahead for another. We pray all will be healed and feeling better soon. Our prayers are for each one.
We are all excited about our Easter program. I guess I’ll call it “The Passion.” It will take place on Saturday night before Easter on the 22 and I urge all of you if you have nothing better to do please come out and enjoy this re-enactment of the walk of Jesus to His crucifixion. We have all been brought to tears during the serious practice periods. It will be held in the new AWANA building.
Our church family sends our love and sympathy to the family of Roy Lambert. Morgan County lost a great leader and he will be missed.
How good it was to have CPL James Vanwhy and his bride Rebecca with us yesterday. James has just returned from another tour of Iraq.
Don’t forget the Community Sing at Grace Bible Church this Thursday night at 7 p.m.
Happy birthday to Johnny Bumgarner and Don Patterson on March 4. For Steve Smith on the 5.
Remember God doesn’t need your capabilities. He needs your availability.
Until next week may the Lord bless you real good.
