Two Springs plus one Mass equals cooling waters
By Willie Ann Johnson
Today at the Springs we paid homage to the men. This was their day. Since being at the Springs I see men of all ages giving God the glory, honor and praise. Men being devoted husbands to their mates, attentive fathers to their children and encouragers to the burden down. I hear testimonies of things done in the past, I see the work of the Lord in the present. Keep walking in authority my brothers in Christ.
The theme for our Men’s Day program was “Walking in Authority.” The speaker was Rev. Braswell of Holland Springs Baptist Church.
First Rev. Braswell let us know that everything we’re not Jesus is. Everything we have comes from God. Jesus will never leave or forsake us. We are not left comfortless. When burden down we should remember that we have a comforter, the Holy Spirit.
Next Rev. Braswell brought a message from Luke 9: 51-56. His subject was “Jesus still has some unfinished business; do you have some unfinished business?” We were created in the image of God on the sixth day. Luke presented Jesus in his writings as the Son of Man and portrayed him to be the ideal human being thus becoming a perfect role model to imitate. Jesus in the text had unfinished business and knew that more could be done by working together. When the devil comes to us we are to as Jesus did and tell him to get behind us. Jesus gave us the power and authority to preach the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick on our Christian journey for the Lord.
Jesus was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities. He is our Bread of Heaven. When in trouble we don’t need to look down our help comes from the Lord who sits high. We must take our problems out of human hands and give them to the Lord. He will fix them in His time. We are also to continually pray this is not an option but a necessity. Regardless of what’s being said we should know that Jesus is the Christ, son of the most high. Jesus was rejected, hung on the cross and raised on the third day for us. Be careful of what you say you will do for the Lord because we are to go all the way on this journey. We must love our enemy, forgive when lied on and when we sin we must repent.
All that Jesus went through on Golgotha He still had unfinished business. He challenged all his followers to put their hand in His hand so that He can be the leader of our life. We must take care of our unfinished business today and not put it off for tomorrow because tomorrow is not promised to us.
Congratulations go out to Rico Veasley for being chosen Man of the Year.
Pastor Hawkins of Macedonia Church let us know to be thankful to be a Christian and not let anyone steal our joy, be men among men and know who gave us our authority.
Springs Events: Sunday school 10:30 a.m., Baptism 11 a.m.
Please keep the sick, shut-ins and bereaved in your thoughts and prayers.
Remember to give God what is right not what is left.
